Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority
Retrofit for combustion turbine generators

General Description:
Design, material supply and quality assurance of an acoustical retrofit for the combustion turbine generators at ten peaking power plants located at four different sites. Treatment included structures to cover each unit as well as ventilation fans and intake and exhaust silencers. A unique approach was required to silence the very turbulent exhaust flow. This was achieved by incorporating straighteners upstream of the baffles - this method also prevents the erosion of the acoustical materials
