Scope
of Work:
Design, supply and installation of the structural steel and
acoustical envelope including acoustical maintenance doors, personnel
doors, and ventilation system for a VSA (Vacuum Swing Absorption)
ISO4C Oxygen Plant at the Owens Corning Composites Plant in
Guelph, Ontario.
Performance
Target:
The
building was designed to meet the noise level regulation of
10 dBA below ambient. The performance target was achieved
using ATCO Noise Management's wall systems with Transmission
Loss ratings of STC 49 and STC 58.
Remarks:
The fibreglass plant is located in a residential community
near a park. To reduce noxious air emissions from natural
gas used in the fibreglass manufacturing process, the owner
added an oxygen producing unit to the site. Noise regulations
required that the oxygen plant addition not raise noise levels
in the community.
