Scope of Work :
Design, supply, and erection of two acoustical compressor buildings including equipment doors and ventilation system.

Unique Project Challenges:
The compressor station's location in a predominantly rural area prompted the owners to insist on a design that not only blended into the rural surroundings, but was also quiet enough for the anticipated residential development slated for the area.

Gas Compressor Building

Silencing Solutions :
To accomplish the project requirements, each compressor building featured a lean-to structure that would camouflage the air inlet filter, turbine exhaust silencer and intake ducting. In addition, metal cladding was added to the vertical portion of the turbine exhaust silencer.

As part of the design, ATCO mounted two ventilation intake silencers on the inside of the building, and four exhaust silencers were incorporated into the roof cupolas.

The design was true to the rural theme right down to the "imitation" sliding hay barn door installed on the side of each building.

ATCO used its Type E49 acoustical assembly for the walls and roof of the buildings.
