For noise absorptive
buildings and barriers, ATCO Noise Management's product portfolio
includes over 25 proprietary acoustical assemblies, which are used
in conjunction with other silencing products, to create custom-designed
acoustical packages that are engineered to meet the specific requirements
of each industrial customer.
Design
Specifications
Some of the
design characteristics of our acoustical assemblies include:
- developed
and tested in laboratories accredited by the ASTM (American Society
for Testing Materials), the CSA (Canadian Standards Association)
and ISO (International Standards Organization)
- verified
in actual field installations
- sound-absorbing,
barrier and resonator-type acoustical materials
- vibration
isolation and decoupling materials for effective control of noise
over the entire noise spectrum, with particular attention paid
to low frequencies
- flexibility
to fit all building sizes, and configurations
- designed
to satisfy all climatic, and noise reduction requirements
- pre-finished,
corrosion-resistant exterior cladding protecting the layers of
acoustical materials
- constructed
in the field, or prefabricated in a shop, depending on the application
- material
specifications ranging from 4" (102 mm) to 22" (559 mm) thick
with our thickest assembly consisting of 15 various layers for
unique noise control needs
- self-framing
or supported by the building's structural steel
Acoustical
Properties
Our acoustical
assemblies are specifically adapted for different levels and different
types of noise, including tonal and low frequency noise sources.
The design of each takes into account the following acoustical factors:
- Mass
- Sound Transmission
- Wide Frequency
Band Coverage
- Vibration

Specialty
Exterior
A roll-formed
steel exterior layer on each site-built acoustical assembly is factory
pre-finished with a baked-on enamel paint. This finish can be designed
to suit even the harshest corrosive environments, and has been successfully
utilized in coastal climates. The conventional steel plate enclosures
can't accommodate a factory-applied, baked-on paint treatment. Our
paint treatment is available in a variety of colors providing an
attractive, weather-resistant and maintenance-free finish. See
panelized acoustical enclosures.
Construction
Flexibility
Should a project's
acoustical requirements change during the design process, acoustical
layers can easily be modified (for different noise signatures).
Our assemblies are also designed to enable location of pipe and
conduit penetrations and other architectural details relatively
late in the project schedule.
Cost-effective
Solutions
Whenever possible,
we utilize project approved materials and prequalified labor sourced
as close as possible to the installation site, resulting in reduced
transportation costs. These processes are registered and governed
by our ISO 9001-2000 quality system. Effective utilization of ATCO's
worldwide manufacturing network and our comprehensive, international
vendor database allows us to maintain high quality, while minimizing
the cost and reducing the schedule. |
