Wednesday, February 18, 1998

Calgary, Alberta – John Barrett, President of ATCO Noise Management Ltd. is pleased to announce that his company has been awarded ISO 9001 certification.
ATCO Noise Management recently completed the quality audit and was awarded the ISO 9001 certificate of registration. "I am very proud of our achievement,'' said Barrett. "Not only did we meet the ISO standards, we did so on our very first audit thanks to the terrific effort of all our people.''

The certificate applies to the design, procurement, construction and post-construction testing of ATCO Noise Management's acoustic buildings and enclosures as well as the acoustic retrofit of existing facilities. "As an international standard, ISO 9001 certification will help the company make inroads into important overseas markets. Internally, ISO 9001 has given us the kind of consistency that allows any employee to pick up a project at any phase,'' said Barrett.

ISO 9001 is one of a series of quality standards created by the International Standards Organization. ISO 9001 sets out the standards for companies like ATCO Noise Management that provide turnkey services ranging from design and development to procurement and production. To be considered ``ISO 9001 certified,'' a company undergoes a comprehensive quality audit performed by a third-party organization.

ATCO Noise Management's product lines include sound attenuating building systems, acoustic off-skid enclosures, combustion air intake silencers, engine exhaust silencers, acoustic ventilation systems, fire detection and suppression systems, acoustic blow-out panels, acoustic doors and absorption barriers.
